I bought 3 pairs of Levi’s at Kohls at same time. One red, one black and one blue. Blue is high waist, boot cut. I also did basically what poster did as far as washing and drying. My husband has a lot of laundry so every once in awhile I end up putting my jeans, by mistake, in with his which I wash on warm as he does lots of outdoor farm work. I also had the same experience with shrinkage. I did not run home and wear them right away. I found red stretch, straight leg shrank a little but went right back upon wearing. The black pair shrank the most and did NOT go back upon wearing. The boot cut denim did the best. Shrinking little, they did the best. Now…I took black pair back to Kohls to exchange them and 2 other pair of Levi dress pants, which were bought by my husband as a gift. But I got sick with seizures and it took a bit to get back to the store, and they refused to exchange saying it was too late when actually it was only about 6 weeks. So my post is about Levi’s guarantee. I thought that no matter where you buy Levis that guarantee would be honored. Now I am going to contact Levis corporate office and explain the Kohls experience and see if they can help me.

While I didn’t measure in inches (I wish I did!!) I would say about a half to an inch of length, and prob a half inch at the waist. You can see the leg is so much smoother without bunching after being shrunk. I wash my jeans after about 5-6 wears depending on different factors, like if it’s summer etc

Great post! I always wonder how much jeans actually shrink, so thanks for testing them. Curious, since you mentioned that the 501 Originals did shrink, how much exactly did the length shrink by? Also, how often do you wash your jeans?
